"Songs in the Key of Awe"
This fresh flock of songs are flying around the world. It could NOT have happened without the help, prayers and financial support of so many via Kickstarter, my Tribe of Awe. The first single, Life Begins Now, created momentum, being played from Australia to Alaska, Canada, Las Vegas, Ohio, Scotland, the Netherlands and more… Please spread the word and urge your tribe to download Songs in the Key of Awe at iTunes or right here on my site. Enjoy the awe. Here's an ear glimpse of "Life Begins Now" ![]() Grieving?
For those grieving the loss of a loved one, the world can seem hollow and colorless. If you, or someone you know, is facing life with a heavy heart, please consider getting or giving Letter to a Grieving Heart, and the companion Cd, Songs to a Grieving Heart. Both have been a source of comfort for many people. I wish I could give them all away but am making them available together at a reduced rate. $22.98, shipping included (within the U.S.) |
New Blog Post What's "N the Works?" New Musical in Development Dreaming is hard work. For some years I’ve been dreaming and working hard with dear friends from Nashville, Wayne & Nan Gurley and Jim Weber. The dream: “The Last Days of Buster Drumwright” is a new musical featuring a rock-infused, Appalachian country score, with book by Nan Arnold Gurley & Wayne Gurley , and music and lyrics by Nan Gurley, Billy Sprague and Jim Weber. It’s a tale of murder, revenge and redemption, based on a story by Jesse Hill Ford, a Southern American writer, known for his critical and commercial success in short fiction and the novels “Mountains of Gilead” and “The Liberation of Lord Byron Jones” (a major motion picture). Synopsis: In the mid-1930s, a drifter returns to his hometown after learning of the vicious murders of his sister and her infant son, and pretends to be a preacher in order to get inside a jail cell and kill the man who has confessed to the crimes. For more information, visit www.drumwrightmusical.com. http://ow.ly/4fko30frZIA Stay in touch and get on board. This train is about to leave the station. Other Works Besides songwriting, I am always scribbling, incubating on a story or book. On this new page I will post some of them. Click under the "N the Works" tab to find emerging projects. One blossoming book keeps calling for my attention, so I will post chapters here as a way of taking steps to finish and publish it. I’m calling this one: Sacred vs. Shinola Aiming the Hearts of my Children at What Matters Most For your reading pleasure (I hope) and the feeding and bountification of your soul, I have posted the opening chapter and two others: Joy vs. Happiness and one that seems fitting for this election season: Leader vs. Politician which was actually written several years ago. I invite your feedback and encouragement. Blog launches! My new blog, Brain Blossoms, will be stuff I say inside my head that wants to get out about life, writing songs, books, poetry, painting, living artfully, maybe even some whispers from God. I hope it feeds your soul, fills your sails, waters your own "blossoms of the brain" as Emily Dickinson called her poems. So jump in. Dig in. Chime in to my Brain Blossoms |
